Rue McClanahan suffers a minor stroke
Golden Girls star Rue McClanahan, 75, suffered a minor stroke while recovering from heart-bypass surgery in November, her rep confirmed to E! News Thursday. (Also confirmed: post-surgery, McClanahan spent two weeks in the ICU.)
At the time, doctors reportedly removed a blood clot from the actress' brain, and she has been recovering "slow but steady, with her speech and movement on the right side of her body affected." An EW.com report refutes rumors that McClanahan is paralyzed.
The Emmy winner is rehabilitating with physical therapy, and her rep says she should be out of the hospital by the end of the month.
Golden Girls fans, who grieved the loss of Bea Arthur last April, are wishing their Blanche Devereaux the best.
